Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about certifications, food safety, installation and choosing a system.
UQESH's flooring systems hold over 10 international quality and environmental certifications, including the Swedish Building Materials Assessment (BVB) and an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).
In addition to the Swedish Building Materials Assessment (BVB) and an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), the systems are tested and certified under UKAS/Intertek, CE marking, REACH/SVHC, and EHEDG for hygienic design in the food industry, among others.
Yes. The systems are waterborne with ultra-low VOC emissions, and independent tests show fewer than 10 bacteria (E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus) on treated surfaces compared to hundreds of thousands on untreated concrete. The floors have documented chemical resistance to food-related substances such as milk, soy sauce, juice and vegetable oils.
In some cases, yes. UQESH's TF and CF systems, for example, can be applied directly over existing flooring and coatings in renovation projects, without damaging underlying underfloor heating coils. Which system is suitable depends on the substrate and the project's requirements – contact UQESH's technical department for an assessment.
UQESH offers eight floor systems for different needs: PF (self-leveling industrial flooring), PF Plus (slip-resistant), IF (heavy load), IF-EC (anti-static ESD flooring), SF (thermal-shock resistant), CF (decorative coloured sand flooring), TF (elastic) and TAP (roller-applied thin-film system for utility rooms and balconies). See the full product overview for details on each system.
UQESH's floor systems achieve slip resistance rating R9–R10 according to DIN 51130 (with UFlex® TAP 750 as an additional layer), which covers most industrial and commercial requirements.
Several of UQESH's systems, including PF and TAP, are classified Bfl-S1 according to EN 13501-1.
UQESH® PF withstands -15°C to 65°C with brief steam cleaning, and UQESH® TAP withstands -20°C to 60°C. Certain systems, such as SF, are specifically engineered for even more extreme temperature fluctuations.
At 25°C, UQESH® PF is ready for foot traffic after 8 hours, light traffic with carts after 24 hours, and heavy traffic and chemical exposure after 48 hours. Times may vary depending on temperature and substrate conditions.
